Introduction
Public toilets for all genders have not always been easily available throughout history. The first modern flushable toilet was invented by Sir John Harrington in 1596. He first installed one for Queen Elizabeth at Richmond Palace.(Barksdale 1) Many policies had to be made before toilets were easily accessible for both genders in the public. Making public toilets available for all genders was not an easy process and is still a point of debate in many places.
